INTRODUCING THE HIGHEST SPEED (90MHz), SINGLE SUPPLY, 3V OP AMP IN SOT-23, 5-PIN PACKAGE

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 4, 1995 -- National Semiconductor Corporation today expanded its TinyPak(tm) family of SOT-23 packaged analog devices and added to its broad line of technologies for shaping information, by introducing the LM7131, the highest speed (90MHz, -3dB bandwidth), single supply, 3V operational amplifier currently available. This bipolar op amp, aimed at desktop and portable video or computer applications, guarantees all specifications at 3, 5, and +5V. The extremely small SOT-23, 5-pin package makes it easy to place the LM7131 close to the signal source or near an A-to-D input, as required. This combination of small size, high performance and low power make the LM7131 ideal for battery powered designs.

The 40mA output current drives up to 50 ohms making this an excellent device for driving video cables or flash A/D converters.

The 0.25 percent differential gain and the 0.75 differential phase provide quality performance for video applications.

Additional features include 6.5mA (typ.) supply current at 3V (7.0mA, typ. at 5V), 70MHz gainbandwidth product and 0.1 percent total harmonic distortion at 4MHz. The LM7131 provides close to ground input and output swing, maximizing the dynamic range for video signals.

Pricing in 1,000 piece quantities of A-grade versions of the LM7131 in SOT23 five pin packages (ACM5), SOIC (ACM) and DIP (ACN) packages begins at $1.08. B-grade versions of the LM7131 in the same quantities of SOT23 five pin packages (BCM5), SOIC (BCM), and DIP (BCN) packages are priced at $.88.
